Having had one of these on the bench for over a year now I have to say it has the best receiver of any rig I have ever had. Compared to the FT450AT on the bench next to it now it can hear stuff the 450 can't. It's quiet, so quiet in fact that I had thought it was broken when I first hooked it up. Mine has the 150kHz CW Filter and the noise blanker in it and they are great additions.
Uptime systems support. Mask of eternity game download. Joe, do yourself a favor and send it to Ten-Tec for an overhaul. The result will be an outstanding radio which should last for many years. As Paul said, the Resonate 'Pot' will surprise you!
It has been my main radio on 40 es 75M's and has great audio too. Rig is near bullet proof and will transmit full power (125 watts) into a high swr load without damage. Not a good idea but it will do it. It is a 13.8 vdc rig with a 9MHz first IF. Power switch (push on/pull off) is NOT designed to handle the DC voltage but to turn on the AC to the 252/262 power supplies.
If you are looking for a great radio with no menus and nothing but knobs to twist this is the one. Easy to repair, nice easy layout, NO SMD parts get one of these. Sandor KG4FET Written by on May 22, 2012.
