When I plug in my camera, it shows up in the devices with an 'attention' icon. Under properties it looks for a driver.
Panasonic has no support for this camcorder using Windows 7. Do I need a software package to make the 1394 card & camcorder communicate?
My old computer used Windows XP operating system & the camera came with video software that worked as soon as I plugged the camcorder in. I really don't want to have to purchase a new camcorder just to work with Windows 7.

To work on that refer the steps mentioned below. A) Download the setup file for the Panasonic PV-GS200 miniDV camcorder onto your desktop. B) Right click on the setup file, scroll down and click Properties. C) On the window that pops up, click Compatibility tab.
