I've had no probs with the PDF's from the website in question. I do, however, have Spybot S&D and Avast! Antivirus running all the time.
They both scan ALL files as they are being downloaded. Just recently, I have been using google.com/safebrowsing to check out any website which seems like a possible danger. To be sure you are safe with PDF's, only open them with Adobe Reader 9 - not with the full Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat will execute any VB scripts which may be hidden in the PDF, while Reader won't - it only displays the file.
